Stanford Prison Experiment
Welcome to the Stanford Prison Experiment web site, which features an extensive slide show and information about this classic psychology experiment, including parallels with the abuse of prisoners at Abu Ghraib. What happens when you put good people in an evil place? Does humanity win over evil, or does evil triumph? These are some of the questions we posed in this dramatic simulation of prison life conducted in the summer of 1971 at Stanford University.

The Golden Suicides
When Theresa Duncan, 40, took her own life on July 10, followed a week later by her boyfriend, Jeremy Blake, 35, their friends were stunned and the press was fascinated: what had destroyed this glamorous couple, stars of New York’s multi-media art world, still madly in love after 12 years?

Jewish Mafia
Organized crime in America was born of the amalgamation of the two most powerful ethnic crime groups in the underworld of the early 1930s – the Italian mafiosi and the Jewish gangsters.[…]

Freemasonry – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Freemasonry is a fraternal organisation that arose from obscure origins in the late 16th to early 17th century. Freemasonry now exists in various forms all over the world, with a membership estimated at around 5 million, including just under two million in the United States and around 480,000 in England, Scotland and Ireland.[1][2] The various forms all share moral and metaphysical ideals, which include, in most cases, a constitutional declaration of belief in a Supreme Being.[3]

The first would be to disable it manually by opening about:config from the address bar. Search for network.cookie.cookieBehavior and take a look a the value. If it is set to 0 you accept all cookies, 1 means you only accept cookies from the same server, 2 means you disable all cookies. Setting it to 1 has the same effect that the option in the old firefox browsers had: it disables third party cookies.

Zabriskie Point
Fourteen Points to Zabriskie Point.
Zabriskie Point, produced and directed by Michelangelo Antonioni (MGM).
This review has much in it about what’s wrong with Zabriskie Point. Do not be misled. It is a film of exceptional importance. It is seriously flawed, true. But even the flaws themselves have a grandeur about them.
Because Antonioni failed to come to grips with the young people he portrays —in the sense that he is dealing with American young people—Zabriskie Point is an intellectually dishonest work. But—don’t miss it.

timboucher » The Yippie Revolution.
As you may have noticed, I’ve been feverishly trying to reclaim some of the “lost history” of the counter-culture. In particular, a group called the Yippies. I was first drawn to the Yippies by way of the excellent BBC documentary, Century of the Self. Yippie leader Stew Albert explained in an interview in Part 3 that as a reaction to the violent repression the United States government lavished upon student protestors in the late 1960’s (at the Democratic Convention in Chicago, Kent State, etc), the Left had no choice to but to change their focus and tactics:[…]

Almost Somewhere – » Creating Separators in Vista Start Menu.
I don’t like Windows to keep track of programs I use often because it doesn’t really got it right. At the same time, I am
not much of a fan of the Vista Start Menu when it comes to the All Programs menu. To keep programs I use often close at hand, I disabled the tracking of recent programs and pin my favorite programs to the Start Menu instead*.
When I have a lot of shortcuts in the start menu, it takes longer for me to locate something because there are no separators or dividers! So, here’s a trick to creating those dividers and make your Start Menu look like the screenshot.[…]

Stephen Glass (reporter) – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Stephen Glass (born 1972) is an American former journalist, known for serial fraud in his articles. Over a three year period as a young rising star at the prestigious national magazine, The New Republic, from 1995 to 1998, he fabricated quotations, sources, and even entire events in articles he wrote for that magazine and others. He was fired when his deceptions came to light. The story of his downfall was dramatized in a 2003 film, Shattered Glass. Glass fictionalized his own story in a 2003 novel whose protagonist is named “Stephen Aaron Glass”[1]
